Jo viime viikolla perjantaina sain oman syyskuun joulukuoreni. Se tuli USA:sta Texasista asti Janetilta. Janet kertoi, että kuori valmistui juuri, kun hurrikaani Ike iski ja postitus myöhästyi sen vuoksi. Sen jälkeen kirjekuori seikkaili ensin USA:n ja sitten Italian postilaitosten käsissä ja lopulta vielä sai ukkoskuuron niskaansa vuotavassa postilaatikossamme. Onneksi kuoren päälle oli jossain matkan vaiheessa laitettu "sadetakki" eli muovipussi suojaksi eikä se mennyt pilalle postilaatikossamme odottaessaan.

Kuoren sisältä löytyi neljä kaunista käsinvärjättyä ristipistolankaa (Stranded by the Sea) ja hauska Texasin osavaltion mallinen jääkaappimagneetti. Suuret kiitokset Janet kauniista kuoresta ja mukavista yllätyksistä! Kaikki kuoreen ommellut napitkin olivat pysyneet matkassa mukana.

Edellisestä kirjekuorivaihdostani olikin jo aikaa ja olin aivan unohtanut, miten hauska onkaan pistellä kuorta omalle parille ja sen jälkeen odottaa omaa saapuvaksi. Onneksi seuraava vaihto on jo menossa, aiheena enkelit!

Already last week on Friday I received my Christmas in September mailart. It came all the way from the USA,Texas, from Janet. She told me that she finished the envelope just before the hurricane Ike hit her town and she had to wait for few days before mailing it a bit late of the deadline. After that the mailart went through the US and Italian Postal Services and in the end met a thunderstorm in our leaking mailbox. Luckily at some point during it's journey someone had put a "rain coat" on it and the envelope didn't get wet while waiting in our mailbox.

Inside the envelope I found four beautiful hand-dyed stitching floss and a fridgemagnet in the shape of Texas. Many thank's Janet for the beautiful mailart and for the nice surprises! All the buttons on the envelope had also survived the journey perfectly.

It has been a while since I took part in a mailart exchange and I had forgotten how much fun it is to stitch an envelope for my partner and after that start waiting for the one coming to me. Luckily the next exchange is already on the way, the theme is Angels in November!

Läpän alle Janet oli vielä pistellyt joulutähden ja iloisen joulun toivotukset sekä ommellut kaksi nappia. Sisältä löytyivät nämä neljä Stranded by the Sea - ristipistolankaa ja jääkaappimagneetti.

Under the flap Janet had stitched a Poinsettia and wishings for Happy Holidays and sewed two buttons as well. Inside I found these four Stranded by the Sea stitching floss and a fridge magnet.
